We Are On The Right Track...
"It's fun to run a company that's so dynamic in nature," says Sanjay Shah, one of Icode's co-founders and who oversees operation from Bangalore. We've met Sanjay before, and he's what P.G. Wodehouse would describe as "a chappie of fine fibre!" His boyish looks and that cherubic smile are pretty much in tact. There's a newfound spring in his stride emerging no doubt from the way things have progressed over the last few years. "The dream is slowly coming alive. We've a long way to go to fulfill our dream but it's on the right track and we are now taking it to the next level," he says as a justification to the upbeat mood at Icode. And when we add our bit about our impressions and observations of the last 3 days we've spent at Icode, he almost bursts into "Boost is the secret of our energy" sort of thing.
The synergies at Icode are a combination of various things. But importantly, the trail blazing vision of Sanjay, Bijal and Ali Jani proved to be the real clincher. "The three of us believe in each other, we trust each other fully and I think that's very important since it makes our employees feel very comfortable. We have full faith in each other and each one of us has been able to play different roles, and play them right, in our own areas of expertise and talent," Sanjay says. Icodians endorse that view and have deposited their trust, their faith in that vision.
In some ways, their growth surpassed their own expectations. "Right from the beginning we had a dream to do huge things. The idea in India was not to grow so much but then as it started to grow, we realized the kind of talent that is available in India. Not just skill set in the area of programming but pretty much in every area. We've seen talent in documentation; we've seen talent in quality assurance, great talent in multimedia, outstanding stuff happening in graphics, web site development. We've also been able to tap into some excellent talent in marketing personnel right from India, for the US market, the global market and we've also seen tremendous development in our tech support department," acknowledges Sanjay.
What really came through, and very strong at that, was the commitment and loyalty of Icodians. They realize they have a phenomenal product, they are aware of it's potential, they acknowledge there's great motivation and an ideal environment to boot, and the sublime conviction that they'll forge ahead through sheer dedication and not necessarily wait for miracles to carry them across.
And if you want to know what their vision should ultimately reap, then this is how it goes in Sanjay's own word, "In the small to medium enterprises we would like to see every single office desk having our product used all over the world."
When Simon and Garfunkel performed 'live' at New York's Central Park some years ago, they announced, "It's great to do a neighborhood concert." In the same vein, we at Koramangala.com wish to state, "It's been great writing about a neighborhood company.
