An intrinsic part of IIM-B's world-class status is its affiliation with internationally reputed universities across the world. Some twenty-five business schools in Europe, North America and Australia figure in IIM-B's exchange program list. The rationale being that as many students as possible should get an exposure abroad. In one term, a batch of 35-40 students will spend one term in these universities and is reciprocated by foreign students spending a term at IIM-B. Says Deepak Sapra, "This year about 90-95 students from a batch of 183 will go abroad." Other IIMs do have similar programs but none to the extent where almost 50% of the students get the opportunity.
