I haven't yet read the book; but I'm certainly going to get a copy. So, why would I want to read a book by Subroto? Is it because I know him personally? Or is it because being an entrepreneur myself, this book would inspire me some more?

Well, I want to read the book for both these reasons. For one thing, Subroto is a fine person. If you ever get to meet him, you're going to come away truly inspired; that's for sure. I can bet on that.

Many years ago, when we first went to do a feature on him at his home in HSR layout, he told us his story. About how he had no schooling till he was eight, simply because there wasn't a school in tribal district of Orissa where he grew up in; and how he was tutored by his mother while she worked in the kitchen and learnt to write the alphabets on a slate; and how he almost joined as a Low Division Clerk in the Orissa government secretariat at a salary of Rs. 305.25 a month.

I for one can't imagine Subroto behind a wooden desk pushing files and thank God that he joined DCM as a management trainee. Rest, as they say, is history.

Yes, I definitely will read his book. I've enjoyed his simplistic style of writing in the past, and most of what I've read has been truly inspirational. I'm sure this book will be too.

If you haven't got hold of his book yet, I suggest you do. Because when you read what Subroto writes, not only will it inspire you, but also you're bound to enjoy it.
